OUR FACILITATORS

On October 15th 1962 Rae embarked on an insurance career that would last a full 45 years and cover two continents before drawing to a close in Calgary Alberta in December 2007. 

During those 45 years, Rae gained experience in a broad spectrum of insurance disciplines and graduated as an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute (ACII) in the UK .

Rae has been involved in the industry as an underwriter, broker, senior head office underwriter, regional manager and Assistant Vice President responsible for Commercial Underwriting for a major Canadian Insurer.

Aside from the obvious familiarity with routine insurance tasks, on the HR side Rae has been involved in training staff in technical and soft skills and motivating them to strive for excellence.  He was also active in

product development and led the design and implementation of an online underwriting manual.

Rae also worked with regulatory organizations and industry interest groups including:

Insurance Institute of Canada

Insurance broker associations

Insurance Bureau of Canada

Internationally, Rae formed relationships with reinsurers in New York, Seattle and other US centres, and participated in developing cooperation between Sovereign General Insurance and One Beacon Insurance of Boston.

In 2007 Rae Jamieson took early retirement to form Jamieson Motivation Inc., devoted to teaching soft skills to Canadian businesses.
